Sanrio x Animal Crossing: Everything Marty’s amiibo card gives you
The Animal Crossing: New Horizons crossover with Sanrio (the folks behind Hello Kitty) amiibo cards are now available. There are six cards that you can collect, available only at Target in the United States.
Each of these has a picture of a camper filled with furniture themed after a particular Sanrio character as well as showing a driver who is loosely themed after that particular character. One of the things I absolutely love about this is that the animals driving aren’t the same kind of character as the character. The rabbit “My Melody” is represented by a deer villager named Chelsea who is wearing rabbit ears, Pompompurin is represented by an adorable yellow bear. It’s amazing.
That little yellow bear is named Marty and he is quite possibly the least monstrous of the Sanrio-inspired villagers, sporting a shirt featuring a knit face of Sanrio’s Pompompurin. I’m just happy the shirt is only sporting the face because my goodness does Sanrio focus on something different in most of the Pompompurin stuff. See if you can… spot… it.
Let it be known that it took Sanrio to add to Animal Crossing what Animal Crossing has never had before… buttholes. I’m not sure who demanded that but here we are. It almost makes me happy that the TV, as cute as it is, doesn’t rotate in the item preview because who knows what you’re supposed to plug the HDMI cord into back there.
As for Marty himself, you can always run down to Town Hall and use the Amiibo card at the ATM to get the little fella to visit your campsite. Might be worth it too because that boy is adorable.

Honestly, I know it’s 2021 and we can make anything look real but seeing how realistic the knit looks on the Pompompurin face on Marty’s shirt blows my simple mind. I’m honestly really tempted to invite him to my island if I could make myself part with one of my island mates I already have.
Though, honestly, considering that he’d move in with a ton of furniture with a “butthole” motif, he might not necessarily be the best influence around my other villagers. Especially around Coco. Coco should never be exposed to that sort of rude furniture. Or anyone. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to try not to think about the fact that his bed has a butthole near the pillow.
