Fracked: PS VR action game releasing this summer
As the world enters a new era of virtual reality (VR) gaming, Sony is ramping up to be a leader. In the company’s latest wave of news, it announced that several PS VR games are on their way to consoles everywhere. Prominently, Fracked will be available for PlayStation 5 as well as PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro.
From developer nDreams, who also greeted the hit game Phantom: Covert Ops, Fracked will change the way you use your PS VR. Taking elements from its previous work, nDreams created this new run-and-cover shooter game where you’ll find yourself well, fracked, in a number of ways.
As you try to take down the Fracked, a group of high-trained mercenaries, you’ll be alone, with just your skills and quick-thinking on your side. Travel on your skis around the remote mountain range, seeking members of the group and taking them down. This action-adventure shooter game gives a whole new meaning to saving the world. It is no exaggeration to say that the survival of humanity is in your sole hands.
Dodge bullets as you ski, climb up high, zipline around, run away and take down all the bad guys. Also, on top of everything else, the game’s commentary hints at corporate greed during the time of a catastrophic climate crisis.
The developers have specifically designed Fracked with VR and PS Move usage in mind. For the PS5, you’ll have realistic skiing, where you have to turn and lean to build momentum. The graphics, resolution, frame rates and load times will be optimal for PS5 usage. However, PS4 and PS4 Pro users will still have stunning quality and visuals.
The fluid fighting styles and realistic motions make Fracked one of the best PS VR games out there. As of now, there is no set release date, but you can look forward to it coming out sometime this summer.
The Coming VR Wave
Fracked is part of Sony’s latest VR push. Gaming and entertainment have launched VR into other industries, and now, it just can’t seem to slow down. Fracked combines the best elements of VR — intuitive controls and an immersive experience. You’ll explore your adventurous side and think outside the box, all with the help of your VR headset.

All of these PS VR games will be coming sometime soon. With such a big title like Doom 3, Sony clearly is putting a lot of money on VR. These games also usher in the new era of the next-generation VR headset. Sony recently announced a new VR headset and controller will be coming in the future, no 2021, but relatively soon.
These new gadgets will bring improvements for field-of-view (FOV) and resolution as well as a single cord. Now that VR gaming has officially become mainstream, these games and the new devices from Sony will solidify PlayStation as a power player.
