Microsoft and Sony have always been two rival companies that love to go head to head. When one company comes out with a new and exciting feature, the other tries to replicate it and put their own twist on it. No matter if you are a fan of Xbox or PlayStation, they are always similar in the gaming growth.

One of the most popular things for both Xbox and PlayStation lately has been each of their own versions of a gaming subscription service that acts as a Netflix of video games. Xbox has the Xbox Game Pass, while PlayStation has PlayStation Now. However, it seems like Microsoft and Xbox are blowing PlayStation out of the water in terms of this service.

Microsoft made a massive deal with the acquisition on Bethesda this past week. One of the biggest reasons why Microsoft wanted to acquire Bethesda was to bring exclusive future games and current games to the Xbox Game Pass. You can start playing 20 of Bethesda’s favorite titles as soon as today with the Xbox Game Pass.

Now let’s take a look at PlayStation Now

PlayStation Now is Sony’s version of a Game Pass. It features gaming titles that all PlayStation fans have always loved along with some newer franchises that people can’t get enough of. You don’t hear too many people talking about PlayStation Now.

PlayStation Now does have a wider library of games, but it doesn’t always come down to quantity. They need to start looking at the quality as well.

Xbox offers more value with the Game Pass. You also get the opportunity to download the games with the Xbox Game Pass instead of streaming them, like with PlayStation Now. Just the overall experience with Xbox Game Pass is a whole lot smoother and streamlined. It’s much more intuitive.

Even though PlayStation Now has over 800 different games to choose from, more people are talking about the Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft has made the better moves as of late and more people are enjoying the Xbox Game Pass a whole lot more. If PlayStation wants to compete they need to do a few things to get on Microsoft’s level.

  1. Give gamers more incentive to purchase PS Now
  2. Make games downloadable instead of streaming only
  3. Acquire a big named company that will entice gamers to join

If Sony can make some of these major changes then maybe they have a chance to compete with Microsoft. However, until something changes, the Xbox Game Pass will always be the top gaming subscription service of the two. Xbox has done everything right so far and their future is only going to get better. Sony is in big trouble if they continue to only focus on quantity over quality. With the recent news of the Xbox Game Pass acquiring Bethesda, it will be interesting to see how long it takes before Sony tries to build to their streaming service as well.
