Turn Cyberpunk 2077 into Blade Runner with this mod
The modding community continues to work its magic with Cyberpunk 2077 and with CD Projekt Red releasing official modding tools, we’re probably going to see some really cool stuff come out in the next few weeks. One such mod, released earlier this month, changes the climate of the game so that it more closely resembles that of Blade Runner, the beloved sci-fi classic from Ridley Scott.
The mod is simply called “Climate Change” and it simply replaces the game’s mostly sunny weather one of the following options: fog, pollution, toxic fog, clouds, overcast or rain.
The results are simply incredible! Check it out!
The climate mod turns Night City into a futuristic dystopia that’s more reminiscent of Blade Runner’s Los Angeles. The toxic fog effect in particular, which turns on a dense yellow/orange fog, is quite close to what we see in Blade Runner 2049. IGN put together a pretty awesome sizzle highlighting the different climates:

As many point out, the Blade Runner aesthetic doesn’t quite match the lore of Cyberpunk but that’s the beauty of mods. They allow you to adjust the game’s settings in ways that allow the game to feel fresh.
There’s certainly no shortage of mods available for Cyberpunk 2077. We’ve already compiled two lists of popular mods that change everything from shaders to vehicle handling to graphical user interface options. All of these mods help make Cyberpunk 2077 a better experience on PC. And let’s be honest, it needs all the help it can get right now.
Cyberpunk 2077 has had its share of problems but I think as the bugs get ironed out and the mods continue to roll out, it could find a second life in late 2021. It will forever be remembered for its horrendous launch and incredible letdown, but maybe with enough work and passion from the community, it can live up to our original expectations.
