Bethesda announces new Indiana Jones game is in development
Everyone grab your leather whip and fedora because Bethesda and Lucasfilm Games have just announced that a brand new Indiana Jones game is in development!
Some very exciting news has just transpired within the last couple of hours or so. Bethesda and the newly branded Lucasfilm Games have announced that a brand new Indiana Jones video game is currently being developed. In fact, a 30-second teaser video was released to get fans hyped for the game.
According to Bethesda Games, the story is an “original” story. This is also the first game announced under the brand new Lucasfilm Games banner. I wouldn’t expect this game to hit shelves anytime soon because Bethesda also stated that it will be quite some time before they have any more to reveal about the game.
For those of you that aren’t aware, Microsoft acquired Bethesda and parent company Zenimax with all of their studios last year for a whopping $7.5 billion dollars. That also includes Machine Games which are helping develop the new Indiana Jones video game.
Since the game is being developed by Microsoft companies, many are believing that this will possibly be a Microsoft exclusive game and perhaps only playable on Xbox consoles or Windows 10. Platforms haven’t officially been announced and most likely won’t be for some time, but that’s where the expectation is right now.

For those of you guys who own the Xbox Game Pass, the game may also be available on that service as well. That’s something we’ll want to keep our eye on as more information about the new game comes out.
Indiana Jones has been an extremely successful movie franchise over the past handful of decades and now it is time that the success moves to the gaming world. While there have been smaller Indiana Jones games like the LEGO: Indian Jones titles or even Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb released 18 years on consoles, this brand new game will be sure to shatter those games by miles.
A game of this stature that is being developed in a time where video game technology is on the rise is sure to be one that will stick around for a very long time. It also can potentially and most likely set a record amount of sales for any Indiana Jones video game ever created. I cannot wait to see what new information that Bethesda, Lucasfilm Games, and Machine Games has for us down the line regarding this new Indiana Jones video game! The game also comes at a time when Harrison Ford is set to reprise the iconic character for one last time on the big screen.
