Stardew Valley Update 1.5 is filled with secrets, including the Qi’s Walnut Room on Ginger Island. Here’s how to unlock it and what’s there.

One of the late-game secrets in Stardew Valley, which arrived with the 1.5 Update, is the Walnut Room. Located on the far West side of Ginger Island, you’ll notice a small door that leads to a secret room. This is the Walnut room and you can unlock it once you collect 100 Golden Walnuts.

Inside this mysterious Walnut Room is Mister Qi, an NPC that rewards you with Qi Gems for completing special challenges. Qi Gems are used to buy some pretty amazing end-game items.

To earn Qi Gems, you’ll need to complete challenges on Mister Qi’s Special Order Board. His challenges consist of things like giving 50 loved gifts in one week, finding prismatic shards and placing them in his collection box, scoring 50,000 points in Junimo Kart’s endless mode, etc. They are timed and usually give you anywhere between three and 28 days.

As I mentioned Qi Gems are used to purchase powerful end-game or special rewards. One item you’ll definitely want to buy when you have enough Qi Gems are Galaxy Souls. These are used to forge Galaxy weapons into their final form, known as Infinity Weapons. There are three Infinity weapons: the Infinity Blade, Infinity Gavel and Infinity Dagger.

But you can buy other useful items here as well, including recipes to make Hopper, Magic Bait, Deluxe Fertilizer and Hyper Speed-Gro. You can also buy an Aquatic Sanctuary, Qi Seasoning, a Key to the Town, and things of this nature. You can even buy a replica of Mister Qi’s hat!

Mister Qi’s Walnut Room is also home to the Perfect Tracker, a board that tracks how much of the game you have completed. This is truly the end-game room for those who are completionists.
