Final Fantasy XIV: How to get the Snowman mount

Complete Final Fantasy XIV’s Starlight Celebration series of quests before December 31 to earn the Snowman Bell, which is used to summon the holiday Snowman mount.

Final Fantasy XIV’s seasonal event, Starlight Celebration, has been upon us for a week now. The limited-time event celebrates the holiday season with festive activities and special rewards. Among the rewards is a Snowman Bell which you can use to summon an actual Snowman mount. Yes, it’s as awesome as it sounds.

Obtaining this special holiday mount is actually pretty easy. All you need to do is complete the quest “Starlit Smiles” which is part of the Starlight Celebration event questline. You must be level 15 to participate in the seasonal event, which begins with Amh Garanjy in Old Gridania (Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre).

The series of quests begins with “A Festive Fiasco,” which requires you to clean up and deliver misplaced ornamets. You’ll then have to speak with some people and straighten out a snowman for “Starlight Slapdashery.” There are three more straightforward quests to complete before you reach “Starlit Smiles,” the one you need to compelete for the Snowman Bell. It has two objectives:

  • Decorate the snowmen.
  • Report to Amh Garanjy

Once you do that, you’ll be rewarded with the Snowman Bell. This item can’t be traded or sold, which means your only way to obtain it is completing this quest. It’s also only available during the Starlight Celebration event, so you have until Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 6:59 am PT to get it.

It’s possible that the Snowman mount could return for next year’s Starlight Celebration event but there’s no guarantee. Your safest bet is to simply complete the current quest.

Other holiday items up for grabs during the Starlight Celebration event are varous themed furnishings, including a Snow-Dusted Tree, Unmelting Ice Partition, and Unmelting Ice Loft. The good news is only the Snowman mount requires you to complete quests to unlock. These items can all be purchased from merchant vendors for gil.
