Stardew Valley Update 1.5 introduces a new volcano dungeon on Ginger Island. Here’s how to cross the lava.

Stardew Valley Update 1.5 adds some very exciting late-game content, including the new volcano dungeon located on Ginger Island. Getting to Ginger Island is just part of the challenge. The new volcano introduces some tricky new elements, including rivers of flowing lava.

Once you’ve befriended the parrots using golden walnuts and gain the trust of the new character, you’ll eventually make your wait inside of the volcano. The fiery sprite will lead you to a river of lava that you’ll need to cross to progress.

Bring a watering can with you to the volcano and when you reach the lava, pour water on it. This will cause the lava to harden, creating a path for you to cross safely to the other side.

The room to the left of the volcano has a small pool of water so if you forget to bring some or simply want to make a wider walkway, you can fill your pitcher there. Once you cross the lava and enter the mountain, you’ll be met with an entirely new set of challenges.

Stardew Valley Update 1.5 is currently only available on PC but it will be coming to consoles early next year. It will also be arriving on mobile devices in 2021, but there’s no set window. The update is said to be Stardew Valley’s “biggest” yet with the addition of Ginger Island, which features new locations, dialogue, events, minigames, puzzles and even a questline.

Also included in the update is an unlockable island farm and farmhouse area to plant crops in any season, an unlockable resort with new beach attire and schedules, new enemies to take on, new farm features, and tons of other secrets and puzzles for you to discover.
