Sony has seen and heard enough regarding its refund policy and has removed Cyberpunk 2077 from its store and issued refunds.

CD Projekt Red is having a rough year and that before the year officially ends in a few weeks, it’s going to go from monumentally bad all the way over to apocalyptic. Sony has finally noticed exactly how broken Cyberpunk 2077 is performing on the majority of their systems (it is, admittedly, an absolute glitch fest) and taking action. The action though is something completely unprecedented.

Sony has, officially, removed Cyberpunk 2077 from their digital stores. Completely. In fact, Sony’s website has posted this official statement:

"SIE strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, therefore we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store. SIE will also be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice.Once we have confirmed that you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store, we will begin processing your refund. Please note that completion of the refund may vary based on your payment method and financial institution."

If you had already downloaded the game digitally, fret not. It will still receive support if it ever comes. Or, if you’d like a refund, Sony said you can get a refund of the digital version through them.

I’ve been in the gaming world since the ’90s and I, honestly, cannot recall another moment like this where a big name title with this much attention has gotten itself pulled from the digital store, especially with this speed and finality.

CD Projekt Red, however, has released a statement stating:

"Gamers can still buy physical versions of the game in retail and mail order stores. All copies, whether digital or physical, will continue to receive support and updates from the Company."

I do like how they typed “the Company” instead of from us. That seems like they’re already working on covering their butts legally. Since their statement they’ve also posted links to how to get a refund as well.

Are you planning on getting a refund? Here are the links if you’re going ahead and jacking out of Cyberpunk 2077.

Digitally, contact Sony here.
Physical copy? Good luck.
