As Rocket League closes its chapter on a very successful Season 1, a new chapter is set to begin with Season 2 featuring a whole bunch of exciting things!

Season 1 of Rocket League has really been extremely enjoyable to play over the past couple months. The new way that Psyonix has presented the in-game challenges this season have been better than ever before.

The introduction of different rarity drops that allow gamers to receive in-game items for free without having to spend a dime is also another key change that Psyonix has done right this past season. Finally, we can’t forget to mention how Rocket League has gone free to play and with that adding scheduled tournaments that allow yourself to put your skills to the test against others around the world, while also earning tournament rewards along the way.

As you can tell, Season 1 has had more to do in Rocket League than ever before. Season 1 is coming to an end in less than a week, but the good news is Season 2 is set to begin on December 9.

Psyonix has some new and exciting things planned for Season 2. For starters, there is going to be a new music soundtrack courtesy of DJ Kaskade. With the new music also comes the introduction of player anthems. This is something that I think could have been added into Rocket League a while ago and in my opinion, is something that I cannot wait to mess around with.

More from App and Gaming News

Player Anthems allows Rocket League gamers to choose a song from the Rocket League soundtrack to play after they score a goal. Customization is always something that people look for in a game. Making it where you are able to have your own Rocket League goal song is something that I cannot wait to explore. While the only goal songs you can choose are songs from the Rocket League soundtrack, it will still make scoring goals even more special and even more fun.

I am always a fan of new arenas in video games. Adding new arenas or maps into video games is a way to change the scenery and give the game a new look and feel without having to change any mechanics. Season 2 is going to introduce a brand new Rocket League arena called Neon Fields Arena. As you can probably infer, the whole arena is neon with all sorts of neon-colored lights. You can never go wrong with neon lights. Neon has the feeling of a party and I cannot wait to play in this very bright arena!

Rocket Labs is also expected to make its return throughout Season 2 along with a new Rocket Pass, with 70-plus tiers of upgrades and both free and premium features. The Rocket Pass is a huge part of Rocket League nowadays and the more you level it up, the better and more intriguing items will be available at your disposal. If you decide that you are going to purchase the Rocket Pass and take the premium version over the free version, you will get a R3MX. The R3MX is the game’s newest car and the final version of the car is unlocked at tier 70.

There will also be new tournament rewards, tournament enhancements, and other enhancements and additions throughout the course of Season 2. There are a lot of new and exciting things set to happy for Rocket League Season 2 and expect Psyonix to do just as good, if not better, than the first season owned by Epic Games. After all these changes and additions are set to make their debut, which of them are you most excited for?
