Red Dead Redemption 2: Don’t expect any Single Player DLC
Despite how amazing Red Dead Redemption 2 turned out and how much fans would love some single player DLC, it doesn’t appear Rockstar is focusing on that.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is often referred to as a masterpiece and was an amazing sequel to the first Red Dead Redemption. Not too often are sequels to video games as good or even better than the first, but Red Dead Redemption 2 did all the right things.
Some people even call Red Dead Redemption 2 one of the greatest video games to ever be created — thus why fans have been begging that Rockstar Games release a major DLC add-on for the main game. However, it doesn’t appear to be that Rockstar is focused on the main game.
Along with Red Dead Redemption 2, there is also Red Dead Online.
Red Dead Online is free to everyone who owns Red Dead Redemption 2. However, it seems like Rockstar is going to be mainly focusing on Red Dead Online moving forward.
There have been rumors about single-player DLC being in the works, but Rockstar North’s Tarek Hamad made it clear by emphasizing that the team is focused on Red Dead Online.
"“Right now the team is focused on building on top of and into the world of Red Dead Online. This world, that era, provides so much scope for storytelling and introducing a wide spectrum of different characters, all of which can be experienced on your own or with a full posse. It’s really important for us that we make sure every type of player can experience the stories we have to tell, and can control the way they experience all of this in Red Dead Online.”"

While anything is possible, it seems that when anyone brings up single-player DLC and Red Dead Redemption 2 in the same conversation, Rockstar seems to really emphasize that they plan on improving Red Dead Online instead of focusing on the main game. Never say never, but I wouldn’t hold your breath if you are waiting on major single-player DLC.
Hamad’s comments come just shortly after Rockstar announced that Red Dead Online will be released as a standalone game on December 1. It will be available for purchase for just $4.99 on PS4 and Xbox One, and playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X via backward compatability.
