The iconic Nuketown map is back in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and it’s got a really cool Easter Egg variant. Here’s how to unlock it!

Nuketown has become a staple in the Black Ops series for Call of Duty and as of today, November 24, the iconic map is back. In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War it’s referred to as “Nuketown ’84,” and it features all the close-quarters action you’d expect. It’s also got a special easter egg that you can unlock.

How to unlock the Nuketown ’84 Easter Egg

Redditor PimpOutMyPC (via Eurogamer) was the first to upload footage of the easter egg, which involves shooting the heads off all the mannequins around the map. Previous Nuketown map easter eggs have worked the same way and you usually have to do it within the first two minutes of the match beginning. It’s unclear if that same time limit applies in Nuketown ’84.

Once you shoot all the mannequin heads off, the map’s visuals will transform and apply a really sweet blue ’80s-themed aesthetic filter to the graphics. In addition to the new look, an ’80s synth-wave track also starts pumping. The filter is reminiscent of Far Cry 3‘s Blood Dragon spinoff.

Here’s what it looks like if you want to spoil it for yourself.

As I mentioned, Nuketown maps in the previous Call of Duty games have also featured easter eggs but none as cool as this. In Black Ops 4‘s Nuketown, it would shoot off a missile that opens up a portal in the sky with zombie-like mannequins falling out of it onto the map.

Black Ops 3‘s futuristic Nuketown had a similar easter egg. Shooting the heads would bring the robotic mannequins to life and they would attack you like zombies.

As a reminder, anyone who purchases Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War by December 4 will receive the Nuketown Weapon 10-item bundle free.
