Walmart: PS5, Xbox Series X in stock today; here’s what time to buy them
Walmart will have a new batch of PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles in stock today, online only and available at a very specific time.
If you missed out on pre-orders or the launch of the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, it’s not too late. Walmart announced a new batch of PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles will be available for purchase today. As previously conducted, the consoles will only be available to buy online and at a specific time.
According to the retailer, the next batch of next-gen consoles will be available today, Thursday 19, at 12pm PT / 3pm ET. You’ll probably want to bookmark this page and be ready to refresh when the time comes. If you’re one of the lucky ones to snag a console, it will be home delivery only. Walmart is not providing an in-store pickup option.

Walmart also confirmed that the stock will include both the PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-Ray Disc Drive ($499) as well as the PS5 Digital Edition ($399). I assume both the Xbox Series X ($499) and Xbox Series S ($299) will also be available.
The notice serves as both a blessing and a curse. While it gives everyone a fair shot to log on at the same time and hope to get lucky, it also creates a mad panic, sometimes causing the site to crash. I’m not really sure what a good alternative would be. Updating the stock at random as you get shipments is another solution, I suppose. By not announcing it ahead of time, it would basically be whoever happens to be on the site at the right time.

If you don’t happen to get a next-gen console this go around, there will still be more chances throughout the holiday season. Just about every retailer has already assured they’ll have the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in stock on Black Friday. Most will be selling the consoles online only as to avoid crowds during the pandemic. It’s definitely not the ideal situation, but it is what it is given the current situation around the world.
