Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s MP5 is way too overpowered
The MP5 gun is no stranger to the Call of Duty franchise. However, the version of the MP5 that is in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is too powerful.
Gamers have already gotten the chance to play Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on the current and next-gen consoles. While some gamers are enjoying playing the multiplayer, others have said there are a few problems that need to be resolved.
One of the biggest complaints that people have been voicing throughout the Call of Duty community is how powerful the MP5 SMG has been. It is quite comical that this is a complaint that people are having because that was a major problem with last year’s Call of Duty game as well.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone both had the MP5 as a favorite for many of its players. At one point throughout the course of the game, that would be one of the only guns that people would use because of the attachments that were able to be added to it. Eventually, Activision updated the game that allowed a little bit of nerfing to the weapon. All of a sudden, gamers are having Deja Vu once again.
One of the most popular Call of Duty players of all time, Nadeshot, even wrote on Twitter about the MP5 issues.

That is a very bold statement by Nadeshot saying that it might be the most powerful SMG in all of Call of Duty’s history. Gamers are describing the weapon as an absolute laser beam that wipes out their opponents at a very fast rate. We all know that when gamers voice their complaints, especially about multiplayer weapons, weapons tend to get nerfed. This situation will be no different and I am sure Treyarch is well aware of the situation already. Gaming developers do not like it when their games are unbalanced and lopsided. If weapons are overpowered and causes a majority of players to only play the game one way, there will be updates.
What makes the MP5 even more broken is that it is a weapon that you unlock at level 4. That means that the weapon is available to every single one of its players very early on. That also means that there aren’t a lot of options of guns to use that early on so everyone is using the MP5. Personally, I believe that guns you unlock at later levels in the game should be the most powerful, while the guns you unlock early on should be average. However, that is not always the case.
Be on the lookout in the upcoming weeks for an update that nerfs the MP5. If you haven’t gotten a chance to use the MP5 and level it up, now would be the time to do so before the weapon is nerfed and simply not as good as it is right now.
