Hawks Talon GC announces ‘Talon Takeover’ on Twitch
Stars on tap with Talon Takeover, a one-of-a-kind content series from Hawks Talon GC premiering on Twitch this week.
Hawks Talon Gaming Club, which is the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, announced Tuesday afternoon a one-of-a-kind content series called Talon Takeover.
Talon Takeover will feature celebrities, entertainers and influencers playing NBA 2K21 online with team head coach Wesley Acuff. The first stream is slated for Thursday, Nov. 19 at 8:30 p.m. EST as Acuff be joined by Billboard’s top hitmakers 24kGoldn. The series will be available for viewing on the Hawks Talon GC’s official Twitch channel.
The star-studded lineup also features hip-hop artist Lil Eazzyy and comedian/hip-hop artist Ron Suno. Other guests will be announced at a later date as the series takes further shape.
“We are thrilled to announce this one-of-kind content series as we continue to engage with the next generation of basketball fans and provide them an unforeseen level of access to their favorite celebrities,” Hawks’ Vice President of G League and 2K League Operations Janice Koon said via a press release. “Fans will not only be able to watch the stream to learn more about their latest projects, but also join us online and play against their favorite celebrities in the popular video game.”

As part of this announcement, Hawks Talon welcomes Emmanuel Lawrence (also known as Manni Supreme) as the host of the series. Lawrence is a student at downtown Atlanta’s Georgia State University and is the school’s Live Entertainment Director and works part-time with Streetz 94.5. In this role, Manni will host the conversation with both Coach Acuff and the special celebrity guest.
Hawks Talon GC received the 11th overall pick in the NBA 2K League Draft and retained 2019 MVP Award Finalist BP (Michael Diaz-Cruz), member of 2020 NBA 2K League All-Rookie LEE (Lee Lamb) and Atlanta’s own and one of the league premier’s secondary ballhandlers KEL (Mykel Wilson).
