There are three main endings in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War campaign. Here’s how to trigger each one and unlock the good and bad endings.

As you play through the campaign of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, you’ll be prompted to make some decisions throughout the story. Some of the smaller choices will alter how the narrative unfolds, like which characters live or the outcome of a side mission.

However, there is one major decision you’ll make at the end of the game that will determine the final mission you’ll play in the campaign. As a result, this will also determine which of the three endings you’ll get.

The most important choice you’ll make is in the mission “Identity Crisis” where you’ll have to choose between telling Adler the Truth or the Lie. Adler will ask Bell where Perseus is and you can tell him the truth, that the base is in Solovetsky, or a lie, that it’s in Duga.

How to get the “Good Ending”

To get the good ending, simply tell Adler the truth, that Perseus is at the Solovetsky Monastery. This will lead to you playing the Final Countdown mission for the finale.

In this mission, you’ll assault the Monastery in pursuit of Perseus, disabling the AA guns so that your air support can destroy the radar array and prevent nukes from being set off across Europe.

There’s an additional sequence following this mission that I won’t spoil.

How to get the “Bad Ending”

This ending can be accessed by selecting the lie option and telling Adler that Perseus is in Duga.

After lying to Adler, you’ll have to make your way to the back room of the safe house and use the radio to inform Perseus of the attack and coordinate an ambush. This is also how you can trigger the alternate bad ending, but more on that later.

Assuming you make it to the radio in time to contact Perseus, you’ll unlock the final mission, Ashes to Ashes. W

How to get the Alternate “Bad Ending”

You’ll get the alternate version of the “bad ending” if you don’t reach the radio in time to warn Perseus of the incoming attack. In other words, you’re still going to lie to Adler, but you’re not going to make the call to Perseus. You’ll still head to Duga only this time, the sequence will play out differently. The end result is basically the same as the original bad ending but how you get to it is slightly varied.
