If you pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, you can now pre-load the game on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War doesn’t officially launch until November 13; however, given the game’s massive file size, Treyarch is giving fans ample opportunity to get a head start and begin pre-loading.

As of today, you can begin pre-loading the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game if you have already pre-purchased the game. Pre-loading opens up at 9:00 p.m. PT.

If you have the PC version of Black Ops Cold Ware, you’ll need to wait a little while longer. Pre-loading begins on November 10 at 10:00 a.m. PT.

As for the next-gen versions of the game, pre-loading on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 will open up on their respective launch dates. So for Xbox SEries X, that’s November 10. For PS5, that’s November 12.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a pretty hefty game, taking up 95GB and 133GB on PS4 and PS5 respectively. It’s fairly similar on Xbox with 93GB and 136GB on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, respectively. The good news is that you can uninstall specific game mode packs, like the Campaign or Zombies, if you need to save some space.

On PC, the game requires 35GB for multiplayer only or 82GB for the full game. If you want to run it on Ultra Graphics, you’ll need 125GB. Similarly, you can choose to install specific game modes.

As a reminder, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War does support forwards compatibility. So if you buy the standard edition of the game on PS4 or Xbox One, you’ll be able to play it on the next-gen console of the respective family. However, simply playing the current-gen version on a next-gen system won’t get you any of the added benefits, like higher framerate, ray-tracing or faster load times.

If you want to upgrade and receive these next-gen improvements, you’ll simply have to pay a $10 upgrade fee. Or you can just buy the Cross Gen Edition for $69.99, which includes both console versions (in the same family). If you own a PS4 or Xbox One and are thinking of getting a next-gen console but aren’t sure when, this is probably the best option.
