MiHoYo has officially outlined the contents of Genshin Impact update version 1.1. Check out what’s coming to the game on November 11.

Despite having the release date and contents of Genshin Impact’s version 1.1 leaked online, IGN had the honor of officially outlining the contents of the incoming update. As previously leaked, version 1.1, the first major update for the free-to-play fantasy action game, will arrive on November 11. And it will add four new playable characters, a new series of quests, a Reputation system for the game’s regions, and the first seasonal event.

Of the four new characters, two will be 5-star. Childe is a 5-star hydro archer that can switch between melee and ranged attacks, something no other current character in the game can do. For melee, he wields dual water knives and a water polearm in his cooldown.

Zhongli is the other 5-star character. He’s a geo polearm user with high defense and strong area-of-effect attacks.

The other two characters are Xinyan and Diona. Both are 4-star and although they were not detailed to IGN, the leaks reveal Xinyan as a pyro/claymore user and Diona as a cryo/bow user.

As far as quests, nothing specific has been revealed, but IGN confirmed it will feature the final of the Liyue chapter, bringing the total core storyline to three acts. More character-specific side quests are also coming.

The reputation is exactly how we described it. Each of the game’s cities will have a reputation level that you can raise by completing activities in the nearby region. Earning reputation will reward you with region-exclusive items.

Speaking of items, version 1.1 will include a portable waypoint, which should allow you to fast travel on demand to various locations, as well as a Wind Catcher, which stores anemograna to create wind currents. A portable stove, treasure compass and oculus stones to mark nearby Anemoculi and Geoculi are coming as well.

Lastly, comes the event, Unreconciled Stars. This is a two-week event featuring a series of quests and co-op challenges in which players must fight back “against a sudden and terrible catastrophe.” One of the confirmed rewards is the 4-star character Fischl.

While IGN didn’t confirm this, it was also rumored that version 1.1 will boost the total amount of Original Resin you can store. It’s said to be raised from the current cap of 120 to 160.

Genshin Impact got off to a hot start when it released but some of the buzz and glow has worn off over time, as it tends to be the case with Gacha games. This update should provide some fresh new content for players to grind, including new characters to unlock and play as. I’d like to see more done about the Original Resin in the game as that’s one of the key areas of criticism right now.
