An Assassin’s Creed show on Netflix is a recipe for success
One of the most popular video game franchises of all time, Assassin’s Creed, is getting its own television show on Netflix and it will be amazing.
Netflix has officially announced that they have partnered with Ubisoft to create a television show based on the popular video game franchise, Assassin’s Creed. Assassin’s Creed is set in many different eras and is revolved around Assassins who fight for peace, order, and free will. The Assassin’s Creed franchise has the perfect stories and atmosphere to be made into a TV show.
As of now the show is in pre-production and is currently looking for a producer. However, Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik will be executive producers for the show, so at least they have that much so far. Both executive producers are stoked about having the opportunity to bring this franchise to life with a live-action television show. In fact, Jason Altman had this to say about the upcoming television franchise:
"“For more than 10 years, millions of fans around the world have helped shape the Assassin’s Creed brand into an iconic franchise. We’re thrilled to create an Assassin’s Creed series with Netflix and we look forward to developing the next saga in the Assassin’s Creed universe.”"
An Assassin’s Creed movie was released back in December 2016, but nothing really spun from that. The movie did not get much hype and ultimately didn’t get the greatest reviews. However, Altman and Kreinik can definitely expand on the Assassin’s Creed universe and I think that this television show is going to be a major success.
If you are a video game fan or even a Netflix fan then there is a pretty high chance that you have heard of The Witcher. Well, The Witcher is a video game franchise that was also turned into a Netflix show and the show has been a major success.
Season 2 of The Witcher was actually renewed before the series even premiered for season 1. That was a bold risk not knowing how the series would actually do, but in the end, it turned out to be a very smart choice. The Witcher was a very interesting TV show and much like many fans, I can not wait until season 2 debuts in 2021.

The reason why I think that Assassin’s Creed the live-action television show will be so successful is that it reminds me of The Witcher franchise. They are both two completely different video games, but the show is most likely going to be structured in an old-style era much like The Witcher franchise is. Not only will the setting for the Assassin’s Creed franchise be well designed, but the stories behind the Assassin’s Creed franchise are absolutely mesmerizing. There is a reason that the Assassin’s Creed franchise has done over 155 million sales.
People who have played the Assassins Creed video game are going to want to tune in and people who have Netflix already are going to want to watch a new action-packed television show. Plus this is going to attract even more users to purchase a streaming subscription service on Netflix if they haven’t already since this is going to be the only place you will be able to view the show. Trust me, Netflix knows exactly what they are doing, and by signing a deal with Ubisoft and making it a Netflix exclusive is not only going to bring in more Netflix subscriptions, but the story itself will be captivating as a whole.
If you have not gotten the chance to play any of the Assassin’s Creed video games then I highly suggest doing so before the show is released. Do some research on the franchise, get yourself familiar with the series, and I promise that when this television show is released whether you are a video game fan or not you will be engrossed in this franchise. I can not wait for this series to help expand the Assassin’s Creed universe and it will be interesting to see which Assassin era the show will be focused around.
