After an announcement from a month ago, when will Electronic Arts EA Play join Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription service?

The gaming world is mere weeks away from a new console generation launch. The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S come first with a launch date of November 10, 2020, and then PlayStation 5 follows on November 12, 2020. While the launch lineup of first party games isn’t anything to get excited about, the big seller for Xbox is their Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, which gives free games to play (that swap in and out after time) like Rainbow Six Siege, Halo, Gears of War, The Elder Scrolls Online, Slay the Spire and tons more.

It was announced over a month ago that EA Play would be coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. EA Play is the Electronic Arts monthly subscription that gives you access to some of the newest EA games, a vault of older games, lets you try new EA game releases early, and gives you discounts on titles.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Members will get EA Play on November 10, 2020 — the launch day of the Xbox Series X and Series S. This will not be an additional cost; it’s just another feature of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate that you’re already paying.

On November 10, EA Play as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be available on Xbox consoles, including the new Series X and Series S. Then in December, if you have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or the Game Pass PC subscription, you can play EA Play games on Windows 10 PCs.

Please keep in mind that only Ultimate and the Xbox Game Pass for PC members will get EA Play. The console-only version of Game Pass will not receive EA Play.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is $14.99 a month and includes:

  • Xbox Live Gold ($9.99 value and includes Deals with Gold, Games with Gold, and gives you the ability to play multiplayer on console)
  • Access to over 100 games on Xbox consoles, PC and Android mobile devices
  • Xbox Game Studio games the day they release
  • Discounts and deals
  • In-game perks for games
  • EA Play
