Burger King x PlayStation: How to win a free PS5
Burger King and PlayStation have teamed up for a promotion where you could win a free PS5.
PlayStation 5 pre-orders may be sold out just about everywhere but not all hope is lost. Sony and Burger King are teaming up to launch a new promotion that could see you win a free PS5.
I’m not going to pretend the odds are in you’re favor because they probably aren’t; but, if you are completely desperate, the game is simple. First, you have to register on the BK App or BK.com.
Once that’s complete, you just buy food at Burger King. Purchasing a 2 for $5 deal or making a $5-plus purchase on the BK App, BK.com, or in-restaurant, you’ll earn a game token. If you’re doing the purchase in a restaurant, the receipt will have the information.
With that game token, you can play a digital scratch-off game in the BK app or BK.com for a chance to win a PS5 console, PlayStation game codes, or BK coupons.

According to the fine print, there are 1,000 PlayStation 5 consoles being given away in the promotion. That’s actually more than I thought but when you think of how many people will be participating, the odds of you actually winning are pretty slim.
That said, there are also secondary prizes, including 2,000 digital game codes each for Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Demon’s Souls, two of the PlayStation 5’s launch titles. There are also 1,000 digital codes for a 3-month PlayStation Now subscription as well as chances to win free food coupons for Burger King. As always with this kind of stuff, I recommend you read the fine print.
The contest runs from October 15 through November 22. The PS5 releases on November 12.
Thankfully, I’ve already got my PlayStation 5 pre-ordered although Amazon isn’t guaranteeing that it will be available at launch. That’s, unfortunately, the case for a lot of people.
The PlayStation 5 pre-order launch was a complete debacle with no clear directions as to where or when the console will be available. Sony originally intended for pre-orders to go live on September 17; however, several retailers jumped the gun and made it available the night the pricing was announced on the 16th. From there, mass chaos ensued as retailers would randomly restock the console and it would sell out almost immediately. Sony promised more PlayStation 5 consoles will become available throughout the end of the year but who knows.
So best of luck, if you plan on participating in this contest. We’ve officially entered the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory timeline.
