The second sneak peek for the Clash of Clans Autumn 2020 update is focused on quality of life improvements and game changes.

Supercell outlined today some quality of life improvements coming to Clash of Clans with the Autumn/Fall 2020 update. In addition to bug fixes, players will find game changes aimed at improving the overall gameplay experience.

Among the key changes coming is one to the Super Troops cooldown. Supercell is removing the 7-day cooldown, meaning you’ll now be able to use the same Super Troop consecutively without having to wait a week as previously required.

This announcement was met with universal praise from the player base as the cooldown was one of the most annoying aspects of Super Troops. The reason for the change is to give players more incentive to try out new combinations as the meta changes with the addition of new Super Troops. Rather than being forced to wait seven days, players can now freely experiment with different attack combinations. This also pretty much confirms that new SUper Troops will be added to the game — possibly with this update (although nothing was announced yet).

Another big change is being made to Heroes.

"Heroes will now always guard the village and will automatically heal after taking a defense. The Guard toggle has now been removed."

There’s a bit of confusion surrounding this one regarding the regeneration. It’s believed that Heroes will still need to regenerate after taking damage attacking a base. The regeneration timer on defenses has been removed.

There’s also a fix where the battle will no longer end prematurely if the Siege Machine is the final remaining unit. Currently, the game doesn’t recognize the Siege Machine as a remaining troop to deploy, causing the battle to end abruptly.

There’s a few other smaller quality of life improvements, such as the option to have a five-minute preparation time and 45-minute Wars, improved rendering for multiple spell effects at once, new tech for Hero skins that allow for “wilder special effects like customized spawned troops, attack hits, smoke effects” and things of this nature.

Overall, the biggest and best change in this Autumn 2020 update is the removal of the Super Troops cooldown. That’s the one I’m most excited for as I also hated being forced to use a different troop.
