With the Xbox Series X right around the corner, October is the final month of new game releases exclusively for the Xbox One. Here’s what’s coming.

Let the countdown officially begin. October marks the final month of the current-generation. While the Xbox One will technically stick around for at least a little while longer, it will no longer be the newest Xbox console. November will see the release of the Xbox Series X and some of the games coming in October will also make the next-gen jump, either through forwards compatibility or through a second release. So let’s take a look at what’s coming to Xbox in October.

  • Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time – October 2
  • Star Wars: Squadrons – October 2
  • WARSAW – October 2
  • Ikenfell – October 8
  • Ride 4 – October 8
  • FIFA 21 – October 9
  • G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout – October 13
  • Remothered: Broken Porcelain – October 13
  • Torchlight III – October 13
  • Cloudpunk – October 15
  • NHL 21 – October 16
  • Transformers: Battlegrounds – October 23
  • Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues – October 27
  • Ghostrunner – October 27
  • Watch Dogs: Legion – October 29
  • The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope – October 30

Kicking things off for October are two highlight anticipated games: Crash Bandicoot 4 and Star Wars: Squadrons. They couldn’t be more opposite in genres, but both look equally intriguing. We actually had the chance to go hands-on with the Crash Bandicoot 4 demo and while it was challenging, it was also a blast to play through.

Unfortunately, we haven’t played Star Wars: Squadrons, but we also can’t get to jump into the cockpit and blast into a galaxy far, far away in EA’s multiplayer space combat game. You’ll be happy to know that games will also be playable on the Xbox Series X as well through forward compatibility.

Also coming in October are two new installments in EA’s high profile sports franchises. FIFA 21 will take to the pitch on October 9 while NHL 21 will hit the ice on October 16. Again, both titles will be playable on Xbox Series X; however, there will be a specific next-gen version of FIFA 21 released that Xbox One players can upgrade to via EA’s Dual Entitlement program. NHL 21 won’t be getting a next-gen version, but you will be able to play the Xbox One version on Xbox Series X.

Ubisoft’s blockbuster Watch Dogs Legion will close out the month and this game certainly looks ambitious. The ability to play as any NPC in the game’s story is a lofty goal and intriguing mechanic. Let’s just hope it lives up to expectations. Watch Dogs Legion releases October 29 and will also be an Xbox Series X launch title when the console arrives on November 10. Those who buy the game on Xbox One beforehand are eligible for a free upgrade to the Xbox Series X version.
