How to watch the PlayStation 5 Showcase today

Looking to keep up with Microsoft’s influx of Xbox Series X and S announcements, Sony is hosting a PlayStation 5 Showcase today. Announced earlier this week, the showcase will provide one more look at some of the upcoming PS5 launch lineup.

Sony didn’t offer much details regarding the showcase, only that it will run around 40 minutes and feature updates on some of the titles from Worldwide Studios and Sony development partners. Of course, one of the biggest questions people want answered is how much it will cost and when the console will actually release. Sony has been cagey in response to both questions.

In any case, we’ll look to get our latest update on the PlayStation 5 today, September 16. The livestream begins at 1pm PT / 4pm ET / 9pm BST / 10pm CEST.

You can tune in via the official PlayStaton channels on Twitch or YouTube. Or just keep this page open as we have it embedded below.

More from App and Gaming News

Sony has announced a number of games that will be available for the PlayStation 5 but not have been confirmed for launch. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales has a holiday 2020 window and could very likely be the PS5’s signature first-party title at release. There’s also Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, the Demon’s Souls remake, Project Athia, Sackboy: A Big Adventure and more. We’ll likely get updates for all of these games and more today.

Sony has a lot of catching up to do with Microsoft from an informational standpoint. Microsoft has already announced that the Xbox Series X and its less powerful Xbox Series S will both launch on November 10 and be priced at $499 and $299, respectively. Sony has not yet revealed pricing or a release date for its PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, I don’t think that’ll change today during the Showcase as it seems focused on games.
