NHL 21 is a little over a month away and with that there is still time to pre-order the game and pick up some nifty bonuses.

It is almost that time of year again when we can all get our NHL fix in. NHL 21 is set to be released on October 16 for PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. While it doesn’t appear that NHL 21 will get its own version of the game for PlayStation 5 or the Xbox Series X, it will be able to run on the next-gen consoles through backwards compatibility.

Just like any other video game, NHL 21 is currently available to be pre-ordered. If you decide to pre-order NHL 21 you will have the choice between three different versions of the game: Standard Edition ($60), Deluxe Edition ($80), and the Ultimate Edition ($100).

Each of the three editions have different pre-order bonuses along with a different price tags. If you someone who is passionate about the game, you might get the most expensive edition. If you are someone who just wants to get a feel for the game then you might get the Standard Edition. However, you might be on the fence of both of those editions and might take the middle option in the Deluxe edition. If you are having trouble deciding which edition you should buy, I will help break down each of the three editions and what you get for pre-ordering each of them.

Standard Edition ($60)

For the Standard Edition of NHL 21, you will get two pre-order bonuses if you decide the pre-order the game.

  • Two Ultimate Team Diamond Player Choice Packs (one per month for two months)
  • One Unlocked Hockey Bag for World of Chel

This edition just has a couple pre-order bonuses as a way for saying thanks for pre-ordering NHL 21.

Deluxe Edition ($80)

The Deluxe Edition of NHL 21 offers quite a few more bonuses than the Standard Edition. Of course it also comes with an extra $20 increase, but if you are someone who are going to utilize the extra bonuses in Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) and World of Chel then the extra $20 will be sure to benefit you with the Deluxe Edition.

  • Five HUT Diamond Player Choice Packs
  • One HUT Synergy Veteran Choice Pack
  • HUT Cover Athlete Choice Pack
  • Two Unlocked Hockey Bags for World of Chel
  • Three days early access

The main difference between the Deluxe Edition and the Standard Edition besides the additional HUT Packs and World of Chel Hockey Bags is the three days of early access. If October 16 wasn’t early enough for you to get your hands on NHL 21, how about October 13?

Ultimate Edition ($100)

This Ultimate Edition is going to have the most pre-order bonuses along with the highest price tag at $100. The Ultimate Edition is going to be for those who are going to play NHL 21 often and also who are going to play Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) and World of Chel on a regular basis. If you are someone who is going to any, if not all of the above then this might be the edition for you.

  • 10 HUT Diamond Player Choice Packs (two per month for five months)
  • One HUT Synergy Veteran Choice Pack
  • HUT Cover Athlete Choice Pack
  • Five Unlocked Hockey Bags for World of Chel
  • Three days early access

The Ultimate Edition will no doubt set you up for Hockey Ultimate Team and World of Chel. If you want a big jump on the NHL 21 competition, then this might be the edition for you.
