Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War 2XP promo suggests an October launch.

By this time of year, we typically have confirmation as to what the annual Call of Duty game will be. Of course, 2020 has been anything but normal which could explain why Activision has been slow to reveal this year’s game. Earlier rumors suggest this year’s game will be Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War but nothing official has been announced.

Another new leak has emerged, this time from a source that’s a bit more official. As reported by Modern Warzone, Twitter user TheGamingRevolution was sent a direct message containing images purportedly of special Doriti’s packaging featuring a Double XP Promotion with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

The promo promises 2XP with every bag and the chance to win 2XP for a year. The fine details reveal the promotion is slated to start on October 5, 2020. That doesn’t necessarily mean Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will release on that day, only that you may begin to redeem those codes. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare ran a Mountain Dew promotion that started in early October despite the game not releasing until October 25.

Other details confirm the promotion will end on January 31, 2021. Players will be able to use up to a maximum of 160 codes with a one-hour limit on 2XP per day (40 hours total).

Assuming this promotion is real — the images are cropped so who knows what kind of Photoshop magic could be achieved — then this would probably be the most legitimate leak we’ve seen for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War thus far.

Again, this is the longest the community has gone without knowing what the year’s game will be. Activision. This image arrives just shortly after other details were leaked last week, including map information, campaign details, Zombie and more. I don’t think an October release is out of the question despite the lack of official announcements coming out of Activision so far.
