Pokemon Sword and Shield: How to evolve Kubfu into Urshifu
Pokemon Sword and Shield’s Isle of Armor brings a legendary evolution of Kubfu
One of the coolest parts about the reveal for Pokemon Sword and Shield’s upcoming expansion pass is the inclusion of the newest legendary Pokemon known as Kubfu. Not much has been revealed on this little cutie, which is a shame because I’m dying to know how this fighting bear justifies calling itself a “legendary” while Bewear and Pangoro don’t qualify. But there are some exciting things we do know. Let’s break it down.
When you make it to the Isle of Armor you get a quick lay of the land. You see the Dojos, you meet former Pokemon Master “Mustard”. But most importantly, via mysterious events, you get a little Kubfu.

As time goes on you get to take Kubfu and challenge one of the Towers of the Two Fists. The two towers are known as The Tower of Darkness and The Tower of Water. Getting to the top with your Kubfu evolves it into the towering Urshifu.
While either tower evolved the Kubfu into Urshifu, the Urshifu will be a different type combo based off which tower you choose.
Choosing the Tower of Darkness will give you a Fighting/Dark type Urshifu that favors strength over speed. Known as the Single-Strike form, your Urshifu will not only be able to Gigantamax, but it will also be able to do the powerful Dark type G-Max move known as One Blow.
Choosing the Tower of Water will give you a Fighting/Water type Urshifu that favors speed over strength. This one is known as the Rapid-Strike form and is also capable of Gigantamaxing. Only this one is capable of using the powerful Water type G-Max move called Rapid Flow.
