Follow this guide for a how-to on playing the Brawler/Blaster team comp as of Teamfight Tactics (TFT) patch 10.6.

The Brawler/Blaster team composition is one of my favorites in Teamfight Tactics. Admittedly, it isn’t the strongest team comp with TFT patch 10.6, as there are others with stupidly overpowered/broken champions right now (I’m looking at you Dark Star Shaco). But, it is fun and fairly easy and straightforward.

Brawler/Blaster is exactly what it sounds like: the four Brawler champions and the four Blaster champions. This is what your team should look like at level 8 towards end game:

  • Jinx (Blaster/Rebel)
  • Lucian (Blaster/Cybernetic)
  • Ezreal (Blaster/Chrono)
  • Miss Fortune (Blaster/Mercenary/Valkyrie)
    • Use Graves as your 4th Blaster if you are unable to find Miss Fortune)
  • Malphite (Brawler/Rebel)
  • Blitzcrank (Brawler/Chrono)
  • Cho’Gath (Brawler/Void)
  • Vi (Brawler/Cybernetic)

This will get you the following trait bonuses:

  • 4x Brawler (Brawlers gain 750 bonus Health)
  • 4x Blaster (Every fourth Blaster attack fires additional attacks which apply on-hit effects)
  • 2x Chrono (All allies gain 15% Attack Speed every four seconds)

Jinx is your carry for most of the game so you’ll want to prioritize items for her. Some recommended items for her include:

  • Giant Slayer (BF Sword + Recurve Bow)
  • Guardian Angel (BF Sword + Chain Vest)
  • Last Whisper (Sparring Gloves + Recurve Bow)
  • Hand of Justice (Sparring Gloves + Tear of the Goddess)

Some other useful items include:

  • Lucian
    • Red Buff (Giant’s Belt + Chain Vest)
  • Miss Fortune
    • Serpha’s Embrace (2x Tear of the Goddess)
    • Morellonomicon (Giant’s Belt + Needlessly Large Rod)
    • Rabadon’s Deathcap (2x Needlessly Large Rod)

Early game, you’re going to want to start with Malphtie, Blitzcrank, Lucian and Ezreal. This will get you 2x Rebel, 2x Chrono and 2x Blaster trait buffs. If you can’t find a Lucian or Ezreal, you may have to use Graves early on. Graves is a fairly strong 1g starting character and if you level him up he can be somewhat viable late game, but you don’t really want to put any items on him.

Mid game, your goal is to have all four Brawlers: Malphite, Blitzcrank, Cho’Gath and Vi with the two Blasters Lucian and Ezreal (or Jinx if you’ve got her). As you continue leveling up, add until you reach the eight champion count.

Once you’ve got your team comp, you’ll want to place Blitzcrank in the back corner with Jinx next to him  so that she will target the unit and proc her passive ability quickly. Place Ezreal in the back right corner with Miss Fortune next to him on the left if you’ve got him.

You’re two frontline champions will be Cho’Gath (in the front middle) and Vi off to the front right with a space in between. Put Malphite in the back row to the right space next to Blitzcrank and Lucian in the back row to the right of Malphite.
