Epic Games has begun teasing Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 2 with the release of two secret transmissions. What could they mean?
The first chapter of Fortnite’s second season is currently in Overtime as Epic Games prepares to launch Chapter 2 – Season 2. It’s been more than 100 days since the last major overhaul to the battle royale game, so players are definitely ready for the new chapter to arrive.
Well, today, we finally have our first teasers. As per usual, Epic Games is releasing cryptic teasers leading up to the season refresh.
So far, two teasers have been released pointing towards some sort of transmission interception. Unfortunately, the message itself has been redacted. The initial message contained four separate words all blacked out.
It didn’t take long for the first message to be decoded. It simply read: “FN.CH02.S02,” referencing “Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 2.”
So, not much to go by yet. There are still three more blacked-out words and your guess is as good as ours as to what it could be.

Interestingly, the second message did come with a new image that looks like some sort of scan taking place. It looks as though some sort of figure is being blurred out as the image unscrambles itself, but it’s hard to say what it could actually mean.
Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 2 is set to go live on Thursday, February 20, so the wait isn’t too much longer now. We’ll likely have a few more teasers over the next two days before the contents of the new season are officially unveiled.
One of the big changes coming with Chapter 2 – Season 2 is the switch to Unreal Engine’s Chaos system. Briefly detailed last month, the Chaos physics system specializes in the destruction of buildings and structures which seems to be perfect for some of the core gameplay systems in Fortnite.
Chapter 1 was viewed by many as a disappointment, so there seems to be some pressure on Epic Games to deliver something truly special with Chapter 2. Let’s hope the Chaos system brings some revolutionary changes to the gameplay while still not forcing Fortnite to lose its identity.
