If you played Mass Effect 2 or 3, there’s a good chance you met Billie Eilish’s mom’s character, and possibly even romanced her.

Well, file this one under interesting things I learned today. I’m sure you’re all aware of who Billie Eilish is.

For those who may not be up to date on the latest music, just look up the song “Bad Guy.” Anyway, Billie Eilish is an award-winning singer and songwriter. But what you may not know is that her mom, Maggie Baird, is actually a voice actor for video games.

That’s right,  and she’s actually had roles in quite a few big games that you’ve probably played. The fun fact comes by way of Guild Wars 2 composer Maclain Diemer, who added that Baird provided the voice for Samara, the justicar, in Mass Effect 2 and 3.

For those who haven’t played the game, Samara is an asari justicar who joins your crew. If you’re on the paragon side of morality, you will have the option to romance her, so insert your “I romanced Billie Eilish’s mom” jokes.

A quick look at her history also reveals that Baird has been a voice actor for games since at least 1999 where she had a role in Battlezone II: Combat Commander. She has also had speaking roles in 2004’s EverQuest II, 2005’s Rogue Galaxy, 2006’s Saints Row, 2008’s Saints Row 2 and 2013’s Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.  Samara, however, appears to have been her biggest video game gig to date.

Beyond voice acting in video games, it also looks like Maggie Baird is primarily an actor for film and television. She’s appeared in some pretty big television shows, including Bones, Days of Our Lives , Curb Your Enthusiasm,The X-Files and The West Wing.

Her resume for film is a little lighter, but she she write and co-produce 2013’s Life Inside Out. Baird also edited her daughter Billie Eilish’s music video for “Six Feet Under,” which was released in 2016.

Did BioWare just hint at a Mass Effect trilogy remaster?. dark. Next

While Maggie Baird doesn’t appear to be full-in on video game voice acting, it’s still pretty cool that the mom of one of the biggest music celebrity’s has had a role in the industry. You can follow her on Twitter here.
