Now a quarter of the way through the 2019-20 season, EA has released the first player rating adjustments of NHL 20. Here are the highlights.

With most teams having played about a quarter of their games thus far, we’ve gained much more insight into the league than we had just two months ago when NHL 20 first arrived. A lot has unfolded over the past two months, but how would it be reflected in the NHL 20 rating update?

Has top-tier talent lived up to their overall? Have we discovered any emerging stars?

These were the questions we had coming into the NHL 20 roster update and now they’ve finally been answered. The November player rating update dropped today, and EA has shared the full list of changes.

More from App and Gaming News

For starters, Edmonton Oilers center Conor McDavid remains the best-rated player in the game. With 43 points (15 goals, 28 assists) on the season thus far, McDavid has received a one-point boost to his overall and is now a game-leading 95 overall. His performance is a big reason why the Oilers are in first place in the Pacific Division with a 14-6-3 record.

Additionally, the entire Boston Bruins top line got a one-point increase to their overalls. LW Brad Marchand, C Patrice Bergeron and RW David Pastrnak are each rated 91 overall. The Bruins are 13-3-5 and in first place in the Atlantic Division with these three players leading the team in points.

Other highlights include a one-point bump to New York Rangers LW Artemi Panarin (90 overall); a two-point increase to Buffalo Sabres Center Jack Eichel (90 overall); and a two-point improvement to Carolina Hurricanes RW Andrei Svechnikov (85 overall). Each of these players leads their respective teams in points this season.

The biggest loser in this update is New Jersey Devils goalie Cory Schneider, who dropped two points and now sits at an 80 overall. The veteran goalie was placed on waivers for reassignment to the Binghamton Devils in the AHL amid his continuous struggles this season. In six starts this season, Schneider has a 4.59 goals against average and .852 save percentage. The team is 0-4-2 in those starts, so I’d say the drop in overall was necessary.
