Warframe’s Saint of Altra update has arrived on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, bringing new music, speed and disruption to consoles.

After its release on PC two weeks ago, the Saint of Altra update has arrived on consoles.

The highlight of the latest update is the newest Warframe, Gauss. The game’s 41st Warframe, Gauss is all about speed, using his kinetic movement to unleash powerful offensive and defensive abilities.  Although he’s been available on PC for a few weeks now, this update marks the first time he’s available on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

There are a few ways you can acquire Gauss, the simplest being simply to purchase him straight out from the Marketplace, standalone or as part of a bundle. Alternatively, you can farm for his parts for free in-game, though that could take a little while longer.

As mentioned, Gauss relies on speed to charge his gauge and unleash devastating kinetic abilities.

Here’s a quick rundown of his abilities:

"PASSIVENever stop moving. Keeping Gauss in motion generates an electrical current that charges his Speed Gauge, helping Shields recharge up to 80% faster, and decreasing recharge delay up to 80%.MACH RUSHBurst into a hyper-sprint to bowl over enemies and charge the battery, or crash into solid objects to generate a powerful shockwave. Hold to rush continuously.KINETIC PLATINGGenerate armor plating that converts a portion of absorbed Kinetic Damage into Energy, and protects Gauss from being staggered or knocked down. Damage Resistance is relative to battery level.THERMAL SUNDERSiphon kinetic energy from the area, charging the battery and inflicting Cold Status on nearby enemies. Hold reverses the process, draining the battery and inflicting Heat Status on nearby enemies.REDLINEPush Gauss’ battery beyond the redline, supercharging his Abilities and setting Fire Rate, Attack Speed, Reload Speed, and Holster Rate into overdrive. When past the redline, bolts of arcing electricity dance periodically from Gauss, exploding en masse when the ability is deactivated."

Gauss isn’t the only exciting addition in Warframe. The Saint of Altra update also introduces the ability to create your own music in-game by turning the Shawzin Emote into a playable instrument. Available in the Marketplace, the Shawzin is able to record music which you can then play and share with others in-game.

More from App and Gaming News

While Warframe is known for its action-oriented combat, Digital Extremes has taken tremendous strides in turning into more than just an action/shooter-looter. This is one of those improvements that add to the overall quality and enjoyment of the game.

Lastly, the Saint of Altra expands Disruption Mode to new planets, introducing some of the toughest enemies and best rewards the endless mode has seen yet.

Another quality of life improvement includes the Look Link and Mod Link chat features, which allows players to easily share their Warframe design or Mod Loadout, or even import a shared design or loadout from another player. The Riven Mod storage has also been increased from 90 to 120.

Overall, it’s a pretty solid update that continues to expand upon the quality of content available in Warframe. Even as a free-to-play game, Digital Extremes continues to prove that Warframe is among the best when it comes to the games as a service model.

Warframe‘s Saint of Altra update, and Gauss, is now live on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch as well as PC.
