Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is looking very likely for 2019
Evidence that this year’s Call of Duty game is Modern Warfare 4 continues to mount, with the latest coming from former Infinity Ward community manager.
Robert Bowling was one of the most prominent figures at Infinity Ward, serving as creative strategist and community manager for the developer. While he hasn’t been with the studio since 2012, he’s still very well-known and respected throughout the game industry and presumably still has some contacts over at Infinity Ward.
One can assume he’s still kept in the loop when it comes to Infinity Ward’s plans, and on social media, he dropped a hint that adds further fuel to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 speculative fires. Responding to a fan who tweeted “I’ll sh– myself if it’s modern warfare,” Bowling simply said, “You better buy some brown pants.”
Now I don’t know for certain if Bowling is aware of Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty plans, but he sounds pretty confident that this year’s game is Modern Warfare 4. Of course, he’s hardly the only one to predict this as rumors regarding the title have been rampant across the internet.
In fact, Eurogamer recently ran an article about this year’s Call of Duty, and an eagle-eyed reader picked up on what he believes was a not-so-subtle tease of Modern Warfare 4.
Again, none of this is actual confirmation that Infinity Ward is working on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, but it’s hard to ignore the hints being placed before our very eyes. This is essentially Activision’s worst-kept secret.

If none of this is proof enough for you, there’s also video footage of college football players reportedly at a preview event for the game. In the video, you can clearly see Call of Duty in the background along with audio that pretty much spills the beans.
Now it’s important to note that nothing is official until Activision officially announces something. The publisher typically begins teasing a new installment in the long-running franchise around this time, but Activision seems to be a little late this year.
The first teaser for Black Ops 4 arrived in March with a community reveal event in May. Beyond some of the aforementioned leaks, Activision hasn’t begun to formally tease Call of Duty for 2019, but we’ve still got time.
Do you think this year’s Call of Duty game from Infinity Ward will be Modern Warfare 4?
