Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 Private Beta will include some endgame content

Ubisoft has detailed the some of the content that will be featured in next week’s Private Beta for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2.

Next week, Ubisoft will host the first Private Beta for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. the sequel to 2016’s role-playing shooter set in a post-apocalyptic United States. The Division 2 will shift the action from New York City to Washington D.C. and next week give us our first chance to explore what’s left as the contamination has spread across the country.

As for how much of this world will be able to explore, Ubisoft has finally shed light on what will be included in the Private Beta. For starters, it will include a mix of early and endgame content as well as access to the three new Dark Zones and one of the organized PvP modes.

As we learned last week, The Division 2 will offer three distinct Dark Zones this time around, each with their own unique environment, landmarks and challenges. Organized PvP will also be offered in the game and the beta will give us access to the Skirmish Conflict mode.

For those of you more interested in the PvE aspect of The Division 2, the beta will offer two main missions, available in Story, Normal and Hard Mode. The beta will also include five side missions and “additional activities” spread throughout the open world. 2016’s The Division offered plenty of side missions and collectible hunts, which I imagine will also be offered in the sequel. The beta will be capped at level seven, allowing but a taste of the new skills and abilities.

However, in a move that caught me by surprise, the beta will also offer one Invaded mission, giving us a taste of some of The Division 2‘s endgame content. This will boost players to the level cap (30), which will allow you to unlock the Survivalist, Sharpshooter or Demolitionist specializations.

The endgame content will be unlocked starting February 8 at 8:00 a.m. PT. That’s one day after the beta kicks off on February 7 at 1:00 a.m. PT. The entire beta will run through the weekend and end on February 11 at 1:00 a.m. PT.

Here’s a more specific breakdown of the Private Beta weekend content.

The Division 2 is easily one of my most anticipated games of 2019. As an avid player of the first game, it was refreshing to see how committed Ubisoft was to deliver on the vision they had originally promised. It took a while to get there, with over a year of constant reiteration, balance tweaks and changes to the game’s overall systems, but the end result was a fantastic game that I hope The Division 2 has been built from.

As a Private Beta, only those who have pre-ordered the game will be guaranteed access. As noted in the FAQs, you can register for a chance at an invite, but those will only be sent out based on available space. Pre-loading will begin on February 6 at 1:00 a.m. PT.

The Division 2 is set to launch on March 15, 2019, for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
