Houndoom is currently available in Raid Battles around the world in Pokémon GO. We have the details on how to defeat the Dark-type and Fire-type Pokémon!
Houndoom is currently a Tier 4 Raid Boss in Pokémon GO. The Dark-type and Fire-type Pokémon has a Raid Boss CP of 27,302. This Pokémon is boosted when there is either Fog-type or Sunny-type weather within the game. It is weak against Fighting-type, Ground-type, Rock-type, and Water-type moves.
According to Pokémon Game Info, Houndoom’s best move-set for offense is Fire Fang for its fast move and Fire Blast for its charge move. The best move-set for Houndoom’s defense is Snarl for its fast move and Fire Blast for its charge move. Snarl deals out a 13.1 DPS, Fire Fang deals out a 14.7 DPS, and Fire Blast deals out a 35.7 DPS.

Out of the current Fighting-type Pokémon, Machamp, Heracross, Blaziken, and Breloom are the best Houndoom counters. Groudon is currently the best Ground-type counter and Tyranitar is currently the best Rock-type to use as a counter. Out of the current Water-type Pokémon, Kyogre and Gyarados are the best counters for Houndoom.
Kyogre is currently the best overall counter with a move-set featuring Waterfall as its fast move and Hydro Pump as its charge move. Both are super effective against Houndoom and will deal the most overall damage. Due to this, battling in Rainy-type weather will allow a low number of Trainers to be able to defeat Houndoom.

Houndoom has the potential to be a Shiny Pokémon both in the wild and following a successful Raid Battle. As Houndoom is also very useful in battles, especially against Exeggutor and Rhydon, this Pokémon is definitely a Raid Boss worth pursuing for Trainers. Tier IV Raids will also provide Trainers with a nice amount of Items and XP upon the successful completion of the battle.
