A new, secret area has been revealed for Undertale in its console debut. It’s the Dog Shrine, and here’s how to get in, and what to do there.

With no apology to all the fans clamoring for more secrets about W.D. Gaster, Toby Fox did add one brand new secret to Undertale upon its PS4 and Vita release today. It should not surprise a single person that the secret is dog-related. It’s a Dog Shrine, actually, and you may have noticed references to it in the new trophies for Undertale. Don’t worry. If you don’t want to stick your nose-less face into every nook and cranny of the underground to find it, we’ll tell you how and what to do when you get there.

Warning: Spoilers for Undertale follow

There are two ways to access the Dog Shrine, depending on whether or not you kill Papyrus. If you spare him, visit his home once he invites you for the date, or anytime after. If you recall from the original PC version of the game, there was a little, Annoying Dog hanging out under his sink, gnawing on bones. On PS4 and Vita, the dog has expanded its world and created a little Dog Shrine underneath. Just waltz right in for a new doggy track by Fox and some more secrets.

The second method ensures you can still visit the Shrine if you kill Papyrus. According to Reddit, it’s somewhere in the garbage dump in Waterfall, but I haven’t been able to confirm this for myself because I’m not a dirty brother killer. Search around and you’ll hopefully find it, though it’s indicated on that Reddit thread that you can’t donate to the Dog Shrine if you’re on the murder route, meaning you can’t get the trophies anyway.

Assuming you get to the Dog Shrine via Papyrus’ house, you can donate to the dog inside in increments leading to a grand total (all together) of 350G for the dog to decorate its shrine. You get trophies and in-game flavor text with each new decoration, but so far no one’s been able to prove that this unlocks anything for lore-enthusiasts to go crazy about. It’s just a dog, in a shrine, with a neat little rendition of Dogsong that we haven’t heard before:

Have fun finding the Dog Shrine and rediscovering Undertale! The PS4 and Vita versions of the game are out today.
