It is not a modern sports (or sportsish, we are talking about WWE) game without some sort of card-collecting mode. That said, WWE 2K25's MyFACTION is a lot of fun but can be daunting, especially for newcomers. Lucky for you, your favorite site expert is a wrestling game veteran and can get you up to speed.
Rareified Air
If you've played any of 2K or EA's other card collectors, you will already know this. But the highest-rated cards are not necessarily the best ones. As in NBA 2K25, these cards come with badges granting them special abilities. It's these skills that separate the great from the merely good. Sting Like a Bee, for example, grants more damage for landing light and heavy attacks. Rabblerouser gives a finisher for completing a set number of taunts. These badges will dictate how you play the game.
Also, not everybody likes to play the same type of wrestlers. I love grinding opponents down with submission superstars such as Kurt Angle or Bret The Hitman Hart. You might prefer a high flyer such as Rey Mysterio.
We all have our favorite go-to moves as well. I've been using the Elite Jey Uso, who is only ranked at 72. But his schoolboy rollup into a superkick is a bread and butter move that a lot of my opponents struggle to reverse, so I'm using Jey sometimes even though I have already unlocked much better cards.
Challenge Yourself
Card-collecting modes have no shame in their game. They are designed to get players to interact with the product daily. Our reward for doing so is in-game coins and shiny new cards. You'll get loyalty gift several days a week for just logging in, and they tend to add up. The same is true of all the various in-game challenges.
Most of these matches are not timed, so the only thing preventing you from doing challenges is your own tolerance for grinding. If a challenge requires you to deliver red arm damage to five opponents, it's not hard to find an event somewhere in MyFACTION that has an 8-man tag. A whole bunch of armbars and you're well on your way to completing that challenge.
The true essence of grinding is finding the ways to combine these challenges. If you have an Evolution card that requires a bunch of diving attacks to upgrades, you can easily complete its challenges while doing other tasks that require diving attacks.
Some of the easiest challenges have opponents that couldn't defeat you if laid motionless on the mat for 10 seconds. Those hapless opponents are challenge fodder. The community knows it and 2K knows it. After all, if you're doing 200 moonsaults a day, you're playing the game. That's what they want you to be doing.
If You're Not Cheating, You're Not Trying
Some of the most fun you can have in MyFACTION is figuring out quick ways to get one over on the computer. Need to complete a challenge that requires a bunch of wins? Table matches are a great way to do them quickly. You don't need a pinfall or a lengthy beatdown. A quick grapple through a table will get the job done. As I mentioned earlier, Rabblerouser is one of the best badges out there. Its Hall of Fame level grants a finisher after two taunts. Hitting somebody with your most devastating move because you waved to the fans twice is a good way to get a quick, cheesy win.
