If you go into WWE 2K25 right now, you'll see that Brock Lesnar will unlock soon, and that you'll need to purchase the Farewell Tour DLC to download him. It's coming Oct. 16, and will also include a 2003 version of Cena and a playable version of John Cena Sr.

That's a great reference, as Mr. Cena occasionally got involved in matches back in the day. There apparently will be a John Cena farewell version of the game, also. Once he announced his retirement, I figured we would get something along these lines.

Lesnar wasn't on WWE programming for a while after being named in a lawsuit against Vince McMahon involving sexual assault, trafficking, and physical abuse. But WWE and its parent company TKO are confident enough to bring Lesnar back, so it looks like he's avoided any serious legal issues beyond being mentioned.

Cena reportedly wanted Lesnar to come back for the retirement tour, which makes sense. Lesnar has been one of Cena's best opponents, and since we're in October, this looks to be the angle Cena will go out on.

One of the things I love most about video games is that our sports heroes don't have to retire. While in the real world, "The Last Time is Now," in WWE 2K, Cena can battle Lesnar for eternity. He can also have dream matches with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, or Bruno Sammartino for us really old-timers.

In addition to all the DLC, there's Patch 1.26, which will deliver stability improvements and added support for the upcoming John Cena content.
