There seem to be as many Horde Modes as there are shooters, but few licenses lend themselves to the concept better than Warhammer 40,000. We told you about Space Marine 2's Siege Mode back during the Warhammer Skulls showcase, and it is here so you can shed blood and slay heretics in the Emperor's name.
Yes, I know there are more Warhammer games than there are Tyranids in all of the galaxy, and not all of them are great. But this shooter boasts an 82 overall Metacritic score, which is definitely among this franchise's best offerings.
The three-player Siege Mode sees players facing off against impossible odds as Tyranids and Thousand Sons attack your fortress. After each wave, you'll restock your ammunition, equipment charges, and Medicae Stims. Reinforcements include Cadian regiments and Dreadnought support.
After every five waves, your squad will move to a different part of the fortress to mix things up a little. How long can you hold out in the Emperor's name?
Siege Mode's the headline here, but there's a lot more to the update. The White Scars Chapter Pack brings a new Assault Class Champion skin, three weapon skins for the Occulus Bolt Carbine, Stalker Bolt Rifle, and Combat Knife, and cosmetic options and heraldry markers for their Successor Chapters.
The Blood Angels cosmetic pack has three armor pieces equippable on any class, a suite of heraldry symbols and rank markings celebrating eight Blood Angel Successor chapters. This update is free for all players, the cosmetics are for Season Pass owners.
