The PlayStation Network outage is an annoyance for many of us, but for EA, the Madden Championship Series, and its finalists, it is costing them money. The Madden Championship Series was supposed to have its final match on Feb. 7. But as any PSN user who tried to log in last night knows, the network went down.

Thus EA, the finalists, and fans waiting to see if Jacob "Fancy" Worthington or Jonathan "JonBeast Marquez is the best Madden player in the world have been able to do nothing but wait. As a silver lining, EA let viewers know it hasn't forgotten about the drops that viewers will get for watching the broadcast on Twitch. Some players report having gotten them already. The drops are an obvious ploy to spike viewership, which will surely be down whenever EA can get this tourney going again.

X user ChrisCordova2K suggested letting the two play Madden 04 for the title. Not gonna lie, I think we would all enjoy that.

Fancy is the no. 1 seed, and has been on a tear since claiming his first belt in 2024. He credited the Switch Stick, a new defensive feature that debuted in College Football 25 with helping him pick up the win.

The Switch Stick allows you to quickly move between defensive players on the field to pull off some incredible interceptions. It has been an absolute game changer, especially in a Madden that launched with serious liabilities on the defensive side.

App Trigger will keep you posted on tournament developments whenever they are able to play the thing.
