Colorado's Travis Hunter's dream season earned him the Heisman Trophy, and his friends at EA Sports are acknowledging the honor. They have increased his in-game rating to a well-deserved 99 overall.

Hunter was the best player in the country on both offense and defense. He had 15 touchdowns and 1,152 yards at wide receiver and four interceptions at cornerback. During the Heisman Trophy ceremony, ESPN commentators hailed the Colorado star as a unicorn for his undeniable two-way talent.

The last player to earn a 99 in EA's College Football games was Jadaveon Clowney in 2014. He went on to be a number one pick and NFL defensive powerhouse for multiple teams. We didn't know it at the time, but that would be the last game in the series for a decade as complications over player likenesses arose.

Fans love a comeback, and College Football 25 delivered. It's the bestselling game of 2024 in the US, and reviews have hailed its triumphant return to form. Hunter was one of its cover athletes alongside Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers and Michigan running back Donovan Edwards.

Runner-up Ashton Jeanty had a lot of support for the award as well after rushing for more than 2,000 yards in his 2024 campaign. He will finish the season with a respectable 97 overall rating. Miami quarterback Cam Ward and Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel earn 93 overalls after their Heisman finalist seasons. Don't feel too bad for any of them, the NFL and its huge paydays will be calling in April.
