There's not much officially on the calendar in terms of Xbox exclusive releases but that doesn't mean Microsoft doesn't have big plans for 2024. Xbox announced plans for a Developer_Direct this month, promising to deliver an inside look at a selection of highly anticipated games coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC and Game Pass.

The Xbox Developer_Direct is scheduled for Thursday, January 18 at 12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm UK,

So far, four games have been confirmed for the showcase: MachineGames Indiana Jones game, Obsidian's Avowed, Oxide Games' Ara: History Untold and Ninja Theory's Senua's Saga: Hellblade II. It's important to note that this is not confirmation that any of these games will be released this; however, all of the games mentioned do have 2024 release windows.

Indiana Jones gameplay trailer premiere

Bethesda first announced the new Indiana Jones game back in January 2021 with a 30-second teaser trailer. We know the game will feature an "original" story featuring everyone's favorite fedora-wearing, world-adventuring archaeologist, but we don't have any other details. The game was recently rumored to have a 2024 release window, something we'll hopefully get clarification on during the presentation.

Microsoft promises 10 minutes of game and developer insights for the Indiana Jones game, including details such as the game's setting and story, how fans will play as Indy and additional details, as well as the premiere of the first gameplay trailer.

Deep dive into Avowed

For Avowed, well get a deep dive into the upcoming fantasy action RPG. "Learn more about how Obsidian’s expertise in building worlds with deep themes, dynamic gameplay, and thoughtful reactivity come to life inAvowedwhere players will have agency to make choices to shape every step of their adventure," Xbox teases.

Ara: History Untold gameplay and details

We'll be getting to see new gameplay for Ara: History Untold, a new game developed by Oxide Games, a new studio founded by expert developers with tons of experience in classic strategy games. Expect details about the inspiration, key features and a roadmap for their upcoming strategy game.

Go behind the scenes of Senua's Saga: Hellblade II

There's perhaps no game more anticipated this year for Xbox than Senua's Saga: Hellblade II. The follow-up to Ninja Theory's action-adventure looks to raise the bar with more complex combat and a wider variety of opponents. The behind-the-scenes look will include developers sharing their insight on the creation of this sequel.

Those are the only four games that have been confirmed for the Developer_Direct showcase but there's always the chance for a surprise reveal or announcement. Xbox notes that there will be no update on games from Activision Blizzard, which was acquired by Microsoft late last year.
