NHL 25: Connor Bedard's overall keeps increasing rapidly
Connor Bedard has been such a treat to watch, and we only have gotten to watch him for one season. The things that Bedard has accomplished in just one season alone has seen his NHL 25 increase once again. Something that has been trending upward over the last couple of NHL video games.
The Chicago Blackhawks have been in rebuild mode after they lost their entire core from their modern-day Dynasty Stanley Cup team. Seeing players like Duncan Keith, Jonathan Toews, and Patrick Kane leaving was hard to watch for Blackhawk fans, but it ultimately led to their Superstar of the future in Connor Bedard.
Connor Bedard has lived up to every expectation early on in his young career and even more so. In just one season of playing in the NHL, Connor Bedard managed to pick up some hardware and won the Calder Trophy for being the best rookie of the 2023-2024 NHL season. Bedard was fantastic in his first season by playing in 68 games, scoring 22 goals and accumulating 61 points. The best rookie production by a mile, while also missing 14 games. A performance like this has led to EA Sports NHL giving him an overall increase for the upcoming NHL 25 video game.
NHL 23 was the first NHL video game Connor Bedard ever was a part of. This was before he ever was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks and before he ever stepped foot on NHL ice. His overall in NHL 23 debuted with an 80 overall. A very respectable overall for someone yet to make their NHL debut.
NHL 24 saw a major increase in Connor Bedard's overall. As NHL 24 is coming to an end, we can officially say that Connor Bedard will finish up with an 87 overall. This was obviously thanks to the wonderful season he produced this past year.
Now coming into his third NHL video game and second NHL video game where he is actually a member of the Chicago Blackhawks, Connor Bedard will debut with an 88 overall in NHL 25.
An 88 overall for an athlete who has only played in one NHL season tells you a lot about what Connor Bedard is all about. This is a guy who is going to continue to add hardware to his collection and someone who is going to compete with the best of them for the next two decades. It is great to see what Connor Bedard is doing for the Chicago Blackhawks and I cannot wait to see what nifty tricks he has up his sleeves this season.
It will also be interesting to see where Connor Bedard's overall sits one year from now at the end of NHL 25. This kid is only getting better each year and starting out at an 88 overall in NHL 25 can see him potentially break 90 overall by the end of the year depending on his production this season.
One thing I think we can all agree on is that it is great to see Connor Bedard doing great things in the NHL and we can all soon get a taste of playing as him in NHL 25, when the game releases worldwide on October 4.
