Marvel's Spider-Man 2: What is new with New Game Plus?

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was a major hit in 2023 and gamers have been waiting for the next update that added new features so that they can explore New York City once again. Gamers finally got their wish as the latest patch that Sony Interactive Entertainment rolled out titled "1.002.000" did just that.

The next time you load up Marvel's Spider-Man 2, you will need to download the latest Patch 1.002.000. Once you are done downloading the game, you will be greeted with a boat load of new content including the much-anticipated New Game Plus.

New Game Plus has been confirmed for quite a while now and it was just a matter of time before it officially made its way into Marvel's Spider-Man 2. New Game Plus comes at the perfect time because the game has been out for nearly 5 months, and a majority of players have already completed what the game has to offer.

What does New Game Plus have to offer?

First off, New Game Plus offers Ultimate Levels. Ultimate Levels are Levels that go beyond the maximum level cap of the game. So, if you were previously max level, Ultimate Levels are here to let you expand on that level and level up a bit more.

With the additional levels, you can unlock new Symbiote Suits, new suit tech/perks, and even upgrade your gadgets to get them a one-of-a-kind golden look. These new features will allow you much more playing time and it will separate the hardcore gamers from the casual ones.

If you are interested in Trophy hunting, the new 1.002.000 Patch even adds a new PlayStation Trophy for completing the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 story again in New Game Plus.

The new update goes beyond New Game Plus. Mission Replay and Time of Day settings have been added, allowing you to replay any missions as many times as you want. If you don't like the time of day, you can change it to a time that you prefer. New Photo Mode features have also been added into the game adding a lot of flexibility to any photos that are taken.

Insomniac Games also added in a ton of great Accessibility Options as well. There are great Audio Descriptions, a Screen Reader option, a Mono Audio option, a bunch of Caption options, and so much more. This is hands down the biggest update Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has had so far. There is a ton of content to unpack, and lots more of New York to explore.
