Is Helldivers 2 playable on PlayStation 4?

If you are a fan of Arrowhead's Helldivers franchise, there is a good chance you are going to want to play the latest Helldivers 2. Helldivers 2 is the latest installment in the Helldivers franchise. If you remember the original Helldivers game, that game was released on both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 3. So, what does that mean in regards to Helldivers 2 being playable on the PlayStation 4?

It doesn't appear that Arrowhead Game Studios is going to follow in their own footsteps and have Helldivers 2 playable on current and last generation consoles. That means that if you want to play Helldivers 2 on PlayStation, you are going to need to own a PlayStation 5.

This news isn't shocking by any stretch. We are finally entering the video game era where less and less games will be made for last generation consoles until no new games are made for the older generation consoles. We aren't fully quite there yet, but we are definitely more than 80% of the way there.

On the other hand, you can always decide to purchase Helldivers 2 for the PC if you don't own a PlayStation 5. Not every PC is strong enough to play the game, so just double check the PC specs before making an official purchase.

Also, since Helldivers 2 didn't launch on the PlayStation 4, I wouldn't expect it to even be playable on the PlayStation 4 down the line. Helldivers 2 has been having a lot of issues with various errors to start as it is on the PlayStation 5 and PC. I don't think they want to put any additional focus on trying to fix a PlayStation 4 version as well.
