Helldivers 2: What comes in the Super Citizen Edition?
Helldivers 2 is set to release this week on February 8. If you've yet to purchase the highly anticipated sequel, you should know there are two editions of the game available: the Standard Edition and the Super Citizen Edition. Here's everything that comes with both versions.
Helldivers 2 Standard Edition ($39.99)
This is as straightforward as it gets. The Standard Edition, priced at just $39.99, includes the full game. That's it. However, pre-ordering will get you three armor sets: TR-62 Knight, TR-7 Ambassador of the Brand, and TR-9 Cavalier of Democracy.
Helldivers 2 Super Citizen Edition ($59.99)
I want to begin by saying the "special edition" version of Helldivers 2 still costs less than what a standard game costs these days. With the Super Citizen Edition, you'll get the full game plus the following in-game items (along with the aforementioned armor sets fi you pre-order):
- 'DP-53 Savior of the Free' Armour Set
- 'Will of the People' Cape
- 'MP-98 Knight' Weapon
- 'Steeled Veterans' Premium Warbond
- Super Citizen Status
- Stratagem Hero Ship Game
The Stratagem Hero Ship game is a mini arcade game that you can play while in your ship. Playing off the whole Stratagem mechanic, you must press the directional arrows in the correct order before the time expires. And you do this repeatedly until time runs out to achieve a high score.
It's fun for a small amount of time but I wouldn't necessarily say it warrants the $20 extra. If you're looking to buy the Super Citizen Edition, it's likely because you want the additional in-game items.
If that's not a big deal for you, then the Standard Edition of the game should be just fine. Regardless of which version you buy, all players will get access to Helldivers 2's post-launch content and free updates.
