Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is set to release this week on February 29th. The highly anticipated sequel to 2020's Final Fantasy 7 Remake is, once again, exclusive to PlayStation, coming to PS5. However, thanks to some fine print in a recent trailer for the game, it's believed that it could come to other platforms in the future.

A trailer released in late 2023 confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will not be available on other formats "at least until" May 29, 2024. This has led some to speculate that FF7 Rebirth will eventually come to PC, Xbox or Nintendo Switch.

Will Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth come to Xbox?

As is the case with a PC launch, we simply do not know if there are any plans for an Xbox version of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Square Enix has not officially announced anything but the fact they haven't ruled it out either could be viewed as a good sign.

Now, it's worth noting that Final Fantasy 7 Remake originally released as a PS4 exclusive back in 2020, but eventually came to both PS5 and PC. Nearly four years later, the game still hasn't made its way to a console other than PlayStation.

Things have changed a bit since then though. Xbox has seemingly strengthened its relationship with Square Enix. An Xbox port of Final Fantasy 14 is set to arrive next year. If talks continue, maybe Square Enix decides to bring Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth to Xbox.

At this point, PlayStation 5 is your only path to playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth at launch. But there's at least a glimmer of hope it could come to Xbox or PC (and maybe even the Nintendo Switch 2?) at some point in the future.
