The countdown for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is officially on, and fans want to know if the game will be on PC come release day.

The hype for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, developed by Square Enix, increases with each passing day. On Feb. 29, 2024, players will finally reunite with Cloud as he begins his search for Sephiroth. Whether you are a veteran fan of the franchise or a new player, everyone can experience the standalone adventure as Cloud continues his journey outside of Midgar.

As you gear up for the highly anticipated release, it is important you know exactly which platforms Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is coming to on launch day and beyond.

Will Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth be on PC? Answered

At launch, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will not be on PC. The game is a PlayStation 5 exclusive title, meaning only those with the Next-Gen console will have access to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth come Feb. 29, 2024.

Although a PC launch is not in the cards for the highly anticipated game, Square Enix did tease a potential PC release later in the year. At the end of the final trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the developers put an asterisk next to its PlayStation 5 exclusivity tag and wrote, "Not available on other formats until at least 05.29.24."

The fine print gives PC and PlayStation 4 users some hope that they will gain access to the game this spring. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait for more intel as the year unfolds; the date seems to be a rough estimate, so the additional platform releases could be even further down the line.

How to Play Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Early

PlayStation 5 users can actually play Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth early. After the additional Sony State of Play on Feb. 6, dedicated solely to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the developers released a demo of the game for free.

Head to the PlayStation Store and begin your free download to get a sneak peek at the game's opening chapter. Those who successfully complete the demo's Nibelheim episode will not have to replay it in the game's full release.
