Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of the most anticipated games currently in development. Officially revealed by Rockstar Games last December, the game was announced with a 2025 release date. That window has since been narrowed to Fall 2025, although there always remains the possibility of a delay — especially for a game as massive as this one.

GTA 6 is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, but one of the biggest questions still surrounding the title is whether or not it will be released for PC. Rockstar has not yet addressed the possibility of a PC release, although Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Rockstar parent company Take-Two, was asked about it.

Zelnick would not confirm a PC release for GTA 6, but his coy response did seem to suggest it will make the jump at some point. If not available for PC at launch, it seems quite like that Grand Theft Auto 6 will come eventualy.

Well, the lack of an announcement is not something that could be set in stone as near as I could tell, because the only thing that happens after the lack of an announcement is an announcement, I suppose, or a continuing lack of an announcement, I guess that could happen too. It doesn’t seem to me that either would be set in stone.

Speaking to VGC, here's what Zelnick said when asked about Rockstar's lack of a PC announcement for GTA 6.

"Well, the lack of an announcement is not something that could be set in stone as near as I could tell, because the only thing that happens after the lack of an announcement is an announcement, I suppose, or a continuing lack of an announcement, I guess that could happen too. It doesn’t seem to me that either would be set in stone."

"But Rockstar has an approach to platforms which we’ve seen before, and they will make more announcements in due time. I do believe that the right strategy for our business is to be where the consumer is, and historically what this company has done is address consumers anywhere they are, on any platform that makes sense, over time."

You may recall that Grand Theft Auto 5 was also released on consoles at first. It initially launched on September 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and in November 2014 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It didn't come to PC until April 2015, about 19 month's after it had released on PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Now it's worth mentioning that it feels like Rockstar may be better equipped to support a PC release if not at launch, than shortly after. I don't htink we'll be waiting nearly two years this time around. But Rockstar would be silly to completely ignore the platform.

If GTA 6 releases in the holiday 2025 window, than it could come to PC in early 2026.
