Ubisoft only just revealed Star Wars Outlaws last year, but it seems the open-world action game could be with later this year. As we ushered in the New Year, Disney posted "24 Oooh-Worthy Things at Disney Experiences in 2024." The blog post featured 24 exciting things Disney fans can look forward to, one of them being the release of Star Wars Outlaws.

Prior to being amended, the post revealed that Star Wars Outlaws would be with us "late this year." The post was edited to remove the specific release window and now says it's "set to release in 2024." Star Wars Outlaws was previously slated to release sometime in 2024.

Even before the removal, the release window isn't unexpected news as we figured Star Wars Outlaws would be one of 2024's holiday blockbusters. For those who missed the original announcement, Star Wars Outlaws is a open-world Star Wars game set between the events of The Empire Strikes back and Return of the Jedi.

Players step into the boots of Kay Vess, a scoundrel constantly on the run who is offered a way out of her current lifestyle. Enticed by the mysterious Jaylen, Vess (played by Humberly González) and her loyal companion Nix (played by Dee Bradley Baker) attempt one of the greatest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen to secure her freedom and start a new life.

Star Wars Outlaws is the first ever open-world Star Wars game, promising the opportunity to explore the vast galaxy, including distinct planets with bustling cities and cantinas. Players can explore these sprawling outdoor planets by speeder, with each planet offering new adventures, unique challenges and enticing rewards.

You can even explore space through your very own ship, The Trailblazer, engaging in dogfights against the Empire and others.

Star Wars Outlaws will be released for PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
